The TRANS Programme
This programme was attentively supervised by GS1 Romania, searching the solutions for the romanian transporters and their professional organizations to realize the benefits offered by the GS1 standards in the transportation.Starting with the contracts with some transportation companies, specific association agreements and then by participating at sessions and commercial meetings organized by them, in the last years, every way to attract them was tried. The recognition from the distinguished international association –transport FIATA of GS1 system as a favourable element for the efficency of the transportation activity was a great support for us. But the low activity of the romanian transportation companies in the international field doesn’t help us in adapting successful experiences from other countries.
The GS1 presence at the Transportation Fair organized by the Commerce and Industry Chamber from Arad and UNTRR, in June, offered the meeting with ARILOG- The Romanian-Italian Logistic Association, that agreed on a cooperation in the enhancement of activities in the distribution chain, regarding the transportation field. Our interfering in the session organized there gave us the chance to show the qualities of the label system on EAN UCC –128 and the SSCC logistic label in tracking the transportation.
For the next period of time GS1 Romania will try to contact the ARILOG managers to define common actions executable by UNTTR and directly by some romanian transporters.
The TRANS Programme is so active, without raising any specific problems to be solved. The year 2005 will be a starting point by working meetings with ARILOG representatives and maybe a progress in the ECR initiative, activity started in 2004 with the Romanian Stores Network Association and the Romanian Cosmetics and Detergents Association.
