Identifying logistics units
Logistics units, such as pallets or items packaged for transport, are assigned a unique serial number. Prior to distribution, details of the items held on the pallet including their unique numbers are communicated via an electronic message to the intended recipient who can then use the unique serial number to book in the delivery.
Benefits:
- One global system for identification and communication
- Enabled traceability throughout the supply chain
- Automatic identification anywhere within the global supply chain
- Assisted stock/inventory control
