GSMP
What is GSMP?
The Global Standards Management Process is a common unique way to develop and implement the GS1 standards. GSMP is leaded by GS1 members and the Organization’s staff and it is composed by certain groups interested in specific features of GS1 system. What Standards are covered by GSMP?
All GS1 standards are developed and managed in GSMP. These include:- The General GS1 specifications ( numbering and identification standards)
- The electronic messages center ( standards based on EANCOM and XML)
- The global data synchronisation : the master data alignment
- EPCglobal standards: international standards for radio frequency identification tags for opened distribution chains
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The GSMP process is opened by a change request (CR). The GS1’s staff, after an initial evaluation, decides if the request will be accepted or refused ( in the case when a solution is already available). The accepted change request is passed to Business Requests Group and Technical Requests Group (the GS1 users group) for a solution development. The final solution is aproved, ratified and then it is published.
More information regarding the process will be found on GSMP-R-http://gsmp.ean.ro/- available only for the GS1 Romania members, based on the username and the password from the association member ‘s agreement.
